LEAVING MOAB ON HIGHWAY 128

Highway 128 follows the Colorado river northeast out of Moab through one of the most beautiful canyons we've ever seen.  We drove through the canyon 14 miles to the Red Cliff Lodge for dinner.  The picture at the left is us standing at our outside table at dinner.  How could you possibly beat that view?  We drove this canyon several times during our stay.  It's the same canyon we rafted through and we used it to leave and head toward Colorado.  It's simply a fantastic place to see!
The Red Cliff Lodge is also the home of the Moab Movie Museum.  It's a very enjoyable museum that highlights all of the many movies that have been made in and around Moab.  Some of the movies made there are Mission Impossible II, Thelma & Louise, City Slickers II and too many westerns to mention.  John Wayne made several movies here (most notably, Rio Grande) and once said "Where God put the West" regarding the area.  John Wayne has always been one of Janie's favorites so I couldn't miss taking her picture with him.
