MOAB, UTAH - CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK

Canyonlands National Park is located about 25 miles out of Moab and is really out in the middle of nowhere.  While it is a large park, it is separated into three different areas and each area must be entered from a different locations that are very far apart.  We were visiting the northeast side of the park, which is called "The Island In The Sky".  The views are fantastic.  It doesn't take very long to vist this portion of the park because there are only a few "view" areas to visit and that's it.  Most of the views are just variations of what can be seen in the picture to the left.

The other two areas are called "The Needles" and "The Maze".  The Maze is way down south and the Needles is on the western side.  Both areas are extremely hard to get to.  We didn't try.  After being at the Grand Canyon, we were tired of seeing canyons but that doesn't take away from their beauty.
